Reduced use of phthalates in the textile and clothes industry
In the textile and clothes industry, phthalates are used for softening PVC in connection with PVC-coated textiles, e.g. tents, tarpaulins, rainwear and work clothes. Plasticisers based on phosphate, benzoate or sulphonate can be used instead.
